The burglaries are occurring where unknown offenders are approaching the rear of houses and forcing the rear doors/windows to gain entry. Houses need to have good security all around the houses and also things like outdoor security lights can be a good deterrent as it attracts attention to the house when it goes off. Also please keep valuables and car keys out of sight.
Also as I know that you are already aware of this but please contact the Police with any suspicious incidents that you may see.

Police have release an efit of a man they would like to speak to in relation to a burglary in Congleton.
At 11.30am on 22nd October 2011 a man purporting to be a plain clothed police officer tricked his way into an 81 year old man's property in Charlesworth Place.
He conned the man into handing over cash saying it needed to be checked. He then took the cash to a woman who was waiting in a car close by and never returned.
The man is described as white, approximately 50-years-old, 6ft tall, going bald on top with hair on the sides and clean shaven. He was wearing a jacket and dark coloured trousers. He had a Macclesfield accent.
There is no description of the woman or the car at this time.
